BLASTING WORKS IN SEISMIC EXPLORATION

Our enterprise conducts blasting operations at the seismic exploration. The concept of “seismic exploration” includes geophysical methods of investigation of the earth’s crust, based on the records of artificially and naturally stimulated elastic waves. The seismic exploration helps to study the deep structure of the Earth, extract mineral deposits (mainly oil and gas) and solve the problems of hydro geology and engineering geology. To excite oscillations, explosions of explosive charges are used in shallow wells, as a result of which occurs (impulse) percussive impact on rocks. Explosive sources are characterized by the greatest power and compactness, simplicity of delivery in difficult for equipment areas.

DEMOLITION OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES

The demolition of buildings and structures by implosion is carried out by falling down on the building foundation or in a given direction. During the work the careful (sparing) blasting technologies are applied. The modern means of blasting make explosive demolition of buildings the fastest and fairly safe way. Blasting operations can be carried out in the city, on industrial and construction sites, in cramped areas, as well as in existing production facilities, where strict restrictions are imposed on the spread of debris, seismic impact on protected sites, the impact of air-blast on people and the glazing of buildings and structures. The principle of the demolition of the building onto its foundation lies in the formation of cross-cutting pre-weakening by blast along the entire perimeter of the outer walls and other structural elements, as a result of which the object, devoid of support, falling down onto its own foundation, collapses. The direction of the demolition is determined by the different height of the cut. Work procedure for explosive demolition of buildings: drawing up a building demolition project, obtaining permission documentation, preparation of a building or a structure, followed by its destruction.

During the demolition project development the specialists analyse the way in which direction this building can be “put”, and depending on this, in a certain way, they plant the explosives. The advantage of blasting during demolition or dismantling of buildings is a great saving of time and finances. The cost of non-explosive building destruction can reach up to 30% of the cost of new construction. Demolition of buildings by implosion is no less than 2-fold reduction of your costs!

PIPE AND TOWER DISMANTLING

The dismantling of pipes and towers is carried out by the directed implosion method, according to a specially designed project. The principle of directed dismantling of pipes and towers lies in the formation of cross-cutting pre-weakening by small charges inside the supporting structure not throughout the horizontal section, but only from the side of breaking-down direction.

The preservation of the support on one side and the almost instantaneous elimination of it from the side of dismantling direction create overturn moment that ensures the fall of the pipe or any other cylindrical structure in the given direction.

EXPLOSIVE CRUSHING AND DISMANTLING OF MONOLITHIC CONCRETE AND REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES, INCLUDING THE FOUNDATIONS

The method uses the energy of the explosion produced when the initial pulse is applied to the explosive. Modern explosive materials make explosive crushing and dismantling of the foundations of buildings the fastest and fairly safe way. This method has long been used in construction industry and is considered to be one of the cheapest. The destruction of concrete structures, depending on their thickness, is made by a blast-hole or borehole charges. Explosion of reinforced concrete usually leads to knocking out concrete from the reinforcement. Therefore, the reinforced concrete massif is divided into transportable blocks, on the boundaries of which the charges of high-velocity explosives are located and detonated. To reduce the fragment scattering we use protective shelters of various designs.

EXPLOSIVE DESTRUCTION OF METALWORKS AND CUTTING OF METAL

One of the main methods of explosive cutting of metals is based on the phenomenon of the formation of cumulative jets. Under convergence of the metal to the charge axis, there occurs huge (up to several tens of GPa (gigapascals)) pressure in the narrow zone (the phenomenon of cumulation), the molten metal in the form of a thin jet is splashing out along the charge axis with a high speed. When this jet interacts with the barrier, it penetrates to a greater depth (this is the way the shaped-charge projectiles hit tank armor). Due to our use of this technology, a significant reduction of the consumption of explosives and the rending action of the explosion on surrounding objects are ensured, as well as the possibility of using lazy explosives based on hexogen with low sensitivity to external influences, which significantly increases the safety of blasting operations.

CLEARANCE OF SILO (STORAGES) FROM COMPACTED CEMENT BY EXPLOSIVE METHOD

Particular attention should be paid to the technology: “Explosive loosening of cement in silo”. Under the influence of its own weight and natural humidity of atmospheric air, even with short-term storage of cement, there occurs an unavoidable cement compacting process with a gradual build-up of canopies on the side walls of silos. With the help of detonation of a strictly defined charge, there occurs a resonant crushing (loosening) and destruction of the compacted canopies. This method is the safest, fastest and most effective, and also cheaper, because in comparison with other methods excludes the presence of people in the process and does not require special technical preparations and mechanisms. Under the systematic blasting operations the quality of the consumable cement rises and it becomes possible to fully utilize the volumes of store rooms (silos), significantly reducing the percentage of losses. This technology is developed and tested by experts of our organization especially for cement plants and enterprises that store bulk materials in silos (store rooms).
